“ALQUIMIA” Alchemy in English, is a POP collection that consist of 3 necklaces and 3 brooches with magnet.
It was made using mixed technics, the material is brass nickel or gold plated, and the printed images are collage compositions where all the elements were carefully chosen and placed to give each piece a unique personality.
This collection differs from the rest by the high technology involved in its realization process, Alchemy manages to combine the characteristics of contemporary jewelry with the technique and perfection of traditional jewelry.
Each piece has it’s own package illustrated by the multi disciplinary artist FIDEL MARÍN and there are only 30 pieces of each design.
ENJOIA

“Into the Woods” Is a Project inspired as the name says, in the Woods, each form was taken from nature. The forest is a mystical and magical place, full of contrasts and surprises; for ages the woods had inspired lots of legends and fairy tales.
This project tries to represent the alive and real side. The wild and savage but at the same time the harmonic side of it. Each piece was made for everyone who likes a bit of surrealism within realism itself.

“BANG” consists on two brooches linked with a chain made of Onix. The first brooch made with sterling silver and an embed plastic solider, the second using sterling silver, a white zircon, and a drafted “BANG” text (that refers to the sound made of an explosion). The design was inspired in POP comics.

“MUA” consists on two brooches linked with a chain made of pearls. One brooch was made with sterling silver and carved wood with the shape of a mouth, the other brooch using sterling silver, a white zircon, and a drafted “MUA” text (that refers to the sound made when a kiss is given). The design was inspired in POP comics.

“GREAT VALUE” consists on three price tags with different numbers stamped on them ($1100, $2100 and $3100), all made of sterling silver, and reversible chains. It also includes a brooch with a “SALE” text stamped on it and an earring hook. The reversible chains can be changed from the brooch, to the earring hook, to be used as the user likes. The price tags show a clear image about superficiality and the importance of money in the modern era; is an irony that emphasizes the superficial belief that the real value of something is in the price.

“LOVE” Consists on a necklace made of Sterling silver; it’s inspired in the POP art fluorescent movement, also used in the Minimal art by Dan Flavin.
It’s lines were inspired by the effect that the fluorescent system produces in the spectator, a sort of “blinding” impeding the vision of the surrounding space. Thus, the piece tries to represent this “blinding” through ambiguous and dynamic lines where the text “LOVE” is hidden.
“GRRR”Is a formal brooch that refers to POP art by it colours, contrasts and composition. Its dynamic shapes point to a bear head and a carved “Grrr” (roaring sound) text. The chains were placed to reduce rigidity to the volume. The materials used are sterling silver and dichroic glass.

“What sighs whisper” Is a conceptual project based on nostalgia, it is made up from 6 brass brooches with imagery that references a specific stage in the cycle of life. As human beings, we generate a very personal internal constellation through experiences and social relationships.
Said chains are reversible because time is subjective. The perception of time differs in each one of us, so these chains serve to point this internal constellation we are creating and connect us to other constellations inside the people we encounter along.
The meaning of each brooch is listed next:

“What sighs whisper” is a poetic project that seeks to capture the unreachable, the sighs represent the emotions because from my point of view that’s the way emotions speak and the whispers represent what we have within that requires attention to perceive it.
This way, this metaphorical name speaks about what we all have inside but sometimes we forget and just needs moment of reflection.

Ring inspired by the organic shapes of nature, made of sterling silver and wood taken from the roots of a tree. The fluidity of its curves resembles the beginning growth of a plant therefore a young root.

No need to paint, USE PAINT!

” Use Paint ” is a playful conceptual project inspired by the paint as a material. It consists of plastic stickers that look like wet paint, which stick to the body as an ornament to cheat the spectator in a certain way.
It pretends to imitate fresh paint as a decorative element further than just being a material to cover surfaces with colour or to create paintings. Not seeking a formal aesthetic, just letting the nature of the material talk to us in a different way.

“WANT A NEW FACE” is my most recent contemporary jewellery project; the pieces become masks when wrapped around the face of the wearer with different expressions.
The concept is based on emotions and people’s personalities, the part we always carry but isn’t always shown. The visible part is represented by the necklace and the hidden emotional one is represented by the mask.
I also arrived at this concept reflecting about the digital photography culture, how it serves as a costume.
This way, “WANT A NEW FACE” is an expressive playful concept to wear a mask you feel truly represented by.
